I Detest the Cold—Here Are the Items in My Cart to Tackle the NYC Weather.

      I cannot emphasize this enough: I really dislike being cold. I'm just not made for it. In the past, I was clueless about how to dress appropriately for winter and would complain endlessly whenever I stepped outside from December to February. Last year, I decided I had to change that. I set a goal to learn how to dress for New York winters, starting with a pair of vintage knee-high insulated boots from eBay, several pairs of fleece-lined leggings, and a long wool coat by Filippa Hägg. To prepare for this season, I'm building on that foundation and creating a capsule wardrobe for the upcoming months that will shield me from the cold. I'm gathering Uniqlo Heattech items, thermal tights, cashmere, coats, puffers, scarves, gloves, hats, earmuffs, and waterproof footwear—I'm loading up. On my wish list are a Loulou de Saison sweater, a Paloma Wool bonnet, and vintage Prada Sport boots. As I approach the months when I start thinking, "I need to move to L.A.," here’s what I currently have in my shopping cart to keep me warm.
