      Every few months, rumors surface claiming that leggings are no longer in style, but this claim never materializes, and it likely never will. In one form or another, leggings will always remain popular. Regardless of who you are or what you do, there will always be a moment when you seek comfort, and nothing compares to the comfort of leggings. Just look at the trendsetters in L.A. and New York City, who pair their stylish designer outfits with casual looks featuring—yes, leggings. While these contentious bottoms experience shifts in trends, currently, fashion influencers predominantly favor one style—flared leggings—and nearly always pair them with flip-flops. Sneakers? Not so much. A prime example is Hailey Bieber, who was seen grabbing an iced coffee on a brief trip to Palm Springs, wearing a graphic T-shirt along with black flared leggings from ALO and The Row's hit (and frequently sold out) City Flip-Flops. Bieber is a trendsetter at heart, and her athleisure looks hold as much influence as the haute couture ensembles she and her stylist Dani Michelle design for red carpet appearances and Rhode press events. With that in mind, it won’t be long before her shoe-and-legging combination becomes ubiquitous.

      Bieber's flared leggings are the ones I notice most often, and I actually own two pairs and can confidently say they're the best. They are soft, stretchy, and still provide support, fitting snugly in all the right areas. Trust me, I’ve probably tested out 50 different pairs by now. While you can mix them with sneakers, from minimalist styles to athletic options, if you really want to look fashionable in your leggings, flip-flops are the way to go—at least until the weather turns cold enough that you have to pack them away until spring.
