A bridal designer has just shared that these wedding dress trends are set to take over in fall 2026.
Throughout the past year, I unexpectedly became deeply involved in the wedding industry. However, I have no complaints. To my astonishment, I’ve had the opportunity to attend gorgeous runway shows and have personal meetings with numerous talented designers. This experience even took me on a unique trip to Amanoi in Vietnam for Kyha's fall 2026 runway show. Kyha is an Australian bridalwear brand that designs for the modern bride who is willing to push the limits of traditional norms. (Additionally, they are set to launch a ready-to-wear collection in November.) Kyha Scott, the founder and creative director, started the brand in 2011 after feeling disillusioned by the overly conventional wedding dress options she encountered while searching for her own. During my time in Vietnam, I had the privilege of speaking with her about her new collection, Waterlines, as well as her predictions for bridal dress trends expected to rise in fall 2026. "There used to be a specific formality surrounding weddings or a prescribed way to dress, but today, brides are shattering those expectations, choosing what feels right for them instead of adhering to what they’re supposed to do or wear," she stated. "We’re witnessing this evolution in diverse outfits, such as bridal suits, and also in color." Her fall 2026 collection, inspired by Vietnam's flora, fauna, landscapes, and craftsmanship, clearly captures this transformation.
Regarding color, many pieces showcased on the runway highlighted a deep ivory, which Scott anticipates will be a key trend in fall 2026. "While bright ivory is currently very prevalent in the market, I’m noticing a shift towards deeper ivory," she explained. "I believe we will see many more brides opting for this bold choice." Although the collection prominently featured several shades of ivory, it also introduced a vibrant green dubbed Bitter Lime. "Green plays a significant role in the landscapes here in Vietnam, so I aimed to incorporate that color scheme to make the collection stand out," she remarked. "Working with green can be challenging, but I relish that challenge." Additional bridal trends Scott foresees gaining popularity include lace dresses, garments with draping details, and an overall emphasis on texture. Out of the 19 looks presented, nine featured lace, and two included feathers. "The brand typically doesn’t use feathers, but I adore the texture they bring, so we worked hard to develop a sustainable alternative with laser-cut organza that is hand-sewn to achieve a feathery appearance while maintaining lightness and texture," she noted. Moreover, to discover further insights into the bridal trends Scott expects to dominate in fall 2026, continue reading. Plus, check out the new collection.
**Reverse-V Waistlines**
This might be a contentious point, but basque and drop-waist silhouettes in wedding fashion have started to seem clichéd. Therefore, it was refreshing to see Kyha's innovative take on this dramatic shape with a reverse-V waistline. This was exemplified in its River dress, made from ivory duchess satin and a stunning burnt gold. It provides the same level of drama and princess-like allure in a novel manner. Anticipate more of this style from now until the end of 2026.
**Sweetheart Necklines**
Kyha has included sweetheart necklines in some of its past collections, but for fall 2026, this silhouette truly stands out. This iteration draws inspiration from the lotus flower, as mentioned in the brand's press release. The lotus holds significant cultural symbolism in Vietnam, representing purity, strength, and resilience. Although the neckline has roots dating back to the early 20th century, Kyha has modernized the design, giving it a fresh, elevated, and intentional feel.
**Lace, Lace, Lace**
Lace is definitely in, and many brides will be embracing this romantic aesthetic in 2026. A full lace gown can create a striking impression, or you could opt for a dress accented with elegant lace details that subtly highlight key areas. The beauty of lace lies in its versatility, enhancing a wide variety of personal styles and enabling each bride to express her individuality on her special day.
**Drapery**
One trend that has been gaining traction over the past year in both ready-to-wear and bridal fashion is the draped dress, and it shows no sign of declining. Whether it features draping at the neckline (like in Kyha's Blyth dress) or in an asymmetrical form across the hip (as seen in its Eaton, Wilton, and Sen styles), this relaxed and luxurious design has multiple ways to be worn. It’s a style that makes a statement for those who prefer minimalist dressing while also being perfect for maximalists. Additionally, the dress does much of the styling work for you, making anyone look like they’ve employed a stylist.
**Capes**
Kyha consistently blurs the lines between high fashion and bridal wear, so it’s no surprise
