A bridal designer recently shared that these wedding dress trends will be prominent in the fall of 2026.

      Over the last year, I unexpectedly became involved in the wedding industry. However, I'm not complaining. To my astonishment, I've had the opportunity to attend stunning runway shows and have personal meetings with many skilled designers. This even took me on a unique trip to Amanoi in Vietnam for Kyha's fall 2026 runway show. Kyha is an Australian bridalwear brand that creates pieces for brides who are fashion-forward and willing to push traditional limits. (It will also debut a ready-to-wear collection in November.) The brand was founded in 2011 by Kyha Scott, who started it after feeling disappointed with the excessively conventional wedding dress options available while searching for her own. While in Vietnam, I had the chance to sit down with her to discuss her new collection, Waterlines, and her predictions for bridal dress trends expected in fall 2026. "In the past, there was a certain level of formality associated with weddings or a prescribed way to dress, but brides are now breaking those rules and choosing what's right for them instead of adhering to expectations," she shared with me. "This shift is reflected in the emergence of different outfits, like bridal suiting, as well as color." Her fall 2026 collection is notably influenced by Vietnam's flora, fauna, landscapes, and craftsmanship.

      Regarding color, many pieces showcased a rich ivory hue, which Scott anticipates will be significant in fall 2026. "Bright ivory is very prevalent in the market right now, but I'm starting to see a trend toward a deeper ivory," she remarks. "I believe more brides will transition to that color palette, which I think is a daring choice." While the collection included a lot of ivory, it also featured a vibrant green shade called Bitter Lime. "Given the abundant green landscapes here [in Vietnam], I was eager to incorporate that color scheme and make the collection vibrant," she explains. "It can be a tricky color to work with, but I enjoy the challenge."

      Other bridal trends Scott foresees gaining popularity include lace dresses, those with draped details, and an overarching emphasis on texture. From a total of 19 looks, nine showcased lace, and two featured feathers. "The brand typically doesn't use feathers, but I appreciate the texture they bring, so we worked diligently to develop a laser-cut organza that is hand-sewn to achieve a feathery appearance while maintaining sustainability," she notes.       **Reverse-V Waistlines**

      This may be contentious, but the basque and drop-waist silhouettes in wedding fashion have begun to feel overused. Therefore, it was refreshing to see Kyha approach this dramatic shape from a new angle, featuring a reverse-V waistline. This was exemplified in their River dress, crafted from ivory duchess satin and dazzling burnt gold. It maintains the same dramatic, princess-like effect in a novel way.       Kyha has included the sweetheart neckline in previous collections, but for fall 2026, this silhouette truly shines. This rendition takes inspiration from the lotus flower, as highlighted in the brand's press release. Although the neckline dates back to the early 20th century, Kyha has reimagined the design through a contemporary, fashion-forward perspective, making it feel fresh, elevated, and, of course, intentional.

      Lace is very much in vogue, and many brides-to-be will embrace the romantic aesthetic in 2026. A full lace gown can create a striking impact, or you might choose a dress enhanced with elegant lace accents that beautifully frame important areas.
