Ballet pumps are not a recent trend; they have been around for some time and are not undergoing a "comeback." However, a new variation has subtly emerged in the fashion world recently, gaining attention especially after Kaia Gerber approved of it. The model, actress, and loyal Repetto fan (who frequently wears styles from Cendrillon to Camille) was spotted leaving the Hotel Costes in Paris with fellow supermodel Vittoria Ceretti at the conclusion of Paris Fashion Week. For the event, Gerber wore a stunning evening outfit comprising a silky black minidress, sheer tights, and black pumps, but these were not ordinary pumps. She opted for Repetto ballet stiletto pumps featuring a kitten heel akin to classic ballet pumps, but with a slender stiletto heel that gives them a sophisticated, evening-appropriate appearance.

In terms of specifics, Gerber chose the Cendrillon Pointy 45 Pumps, which boast a slightly pointed toe while retaining most characteristics of the traditional Cendrillon ballet flats, not to mention the stiletto heel. While she chose classic black, this silhouette is also available in burgundy patent leather, and Repetto offers a taller 75-millimeter version as well. This evening version of ballet flats is a style we are starting to see from many of our favorite shoe brands, including Mansur Gavriel. Other brands like The Row and Miu Miu are also embracing heeled ballet flats, opting for thicker heels but maintaining a more polished look than standard ballet shoes. At Chanel's Métiers d'Art show, the brand showcased a pair of opulent satin ballet pumps, which are now finally available. This clearly indicates that this is a shoe trend that is here to stay.
