Whenever a new collection from Prada or Miu Miu is showcased, there's always one particular moment from the show that stands out to me, and it's likely not what you expect. As someone who proudly considers themselves a fan of Miuccia Prada, I admire the designer's work and the immersive world she creates around her collections, including the set design, the guest list, and the music. However, what truly captivates me are the outfits revealed at the end of each show, which remain my top focus each season. Chic, sophisticated, and effortlessly stylish, Prada's looks consistently resonate with fans, and during her spring/summer 2026 presentations in Milan (Prada) and Paris (Miu Miu), she showcased different iterations of the same piece, signaling an emerging trend.
The item in question was a scarf—specifically a fichu, an 18th-century triangular shawl meant to be draped and tied around the shoulders. At the recent Prada show, the designer made her entrance alongside co-creative director Raf Simons, wearing a straightforward white shirtdress that fell just below the knee, paired with equally minimalist black pumps. The standout accessory? An orange satin fichu adorned with rhinestones, reminiscent of the embellished details found on pieces in the S/S 26 Prada collection. She wore it tied around her chest, adding a touch of flair to an otherwise simple show outfit.
In a post after the show, the Instagram account @whatmiuccia, dedicated to showcasing Prada's looks, shared a video of the designer from her spring/summer 2021 show featuring the same fichu. The video's caption noted that this piece is a "variation of FW 2004 elements."
When the designer presented her latest Miu Miu collection during Paris Fashion Week, attendees quickly spotted a resemblance to her outfit from the Prada show. While the colors were different, both looks featured a simple, knee-length dress (in this case, a three-quarter-sleeve taffeta style with a crewneck in mushroom brown) and a vibrant, embellished fichu (in rich turquoise with a champagne satin lining). She accessorized with drop earrings, stacked bangles, and black Prada pumps.
