This Is the Subtle Color Trend That People Are Suddenly Choosing Over Camel More Often
As someone with a wardrobe filled with camel coats and sweaters, I see it as one of the most classic, luxe colors available. That said, camel has dominated the neutral palette in fall and winter for as long as we can remember, which makes it understandable that people might be seeking something new. While I don’t believe camel is fading away anytime soon, I've been noticing another color gaining popularity among celebrities, influencers, and editors—one that even Jennifer Lopez recently wore from head to toe while attending a theater in NYC. The distinction is subtle but significant, especially considering camel's longstanding popularity in colder months. The color I mean is oatmeal. You could say it’s quite similar to camel, yet it feels more refreshing. I've seen an increasing number of brands including it in their new clothing lines this season instead of offering camel. Oatmeal is a lighter shade with a slightly cooler tone, which some might find easier to wear than camel. Lopez showcased her preference by donning an oversized oatmeal cardigan paired with loose pleated trousers, looking remarkably chic and stylish. I think you’ll agree she looked exceptionally elegant.
