This brings up the ongoing debate of new versus classic: Is the iconic Chanel Flap bag a wiser investment, or will the Balenciaga Rodeo bag offer the most value for my wardrobe? To investigate this, I decided to explore a curated selection of the best new designer handbags for fall 2025 and provide my personal assessment.

      My review: The updated, relaxed version retains the spirit of the original Chloé icon, and the new generation of celebrities, including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Rachel Sennott, and Doechii, showcase how contemporary and youthful this bag feels. The revised design preserves the qualities that made the original so coveted, while also featuring subtle alterations discernible to the keen observer: it has a lighter weight, a single zip closure for ease of access, and a buffalo leather finish that arrives with a naturally-soft, lived-in quality usually achieved only after years of wear.

      The charm of this bag is in the details—the chunky padlock adorning the top flap, the bold gold hardware, sturdy handles that comfortably rest on the shoulder, and the characteristic slouchy leather. Although my personal style leans away from bohemian, I found this bag delightfully easy and enjoyable to style, pairing it with a classic trench coat, black trousers, and ballet flats. Despite its redesign, it still carries a fulfilling weight, reminding me of the cultural relevance held within.

      What fits inside: The Paddington Bag is spacious. It’s becoming rare to find a bag that is both stylish and functional, but the Paddington fits both categories perfectly. It may not accommodate a laptop, but it holds all essentials and more comfortably. I managed to fit my digital camera, a paperback book, sunglasses case, roughly seven lip products, my full-sized wallet, and additional items. With a main zipped compartment and the convenience of an outer pocket, I was never short on space.
