My collection of heels has been receiving a bit more attention than usual, which—unfortunately for me—has left some of my reliable pairs looking rather worn. Finally having a reason to enhance my selection with one or two new pairs, I've been searching for heel trends that feel fresh without appearing overly familiar. Thankfully, inspiration appeared just in time. This week, Gwyneth Paltrow graced a red carpet in a heels trend I hadn't considered yet—and I’m not quite sure why. In just one appearance, she convinced me of its elegance, making me realize that my wardrobe desperately needs a pair of rich navy heels.
Styling her royal blue shoes for an event in L.A., the actress created a polished, uncomplicated look, pairing the deep-colored heels with a light grey trouser ensemble. While black would have darkened the soft grey and added weight to the outfit, Gwyneth's navy heels complemented the look, adding depth without compromising the color scheme.
