Seen in Tokyo: The Essential Remedy for Winter Denim Fatigue for Every Naturally Talented Stylist

      I can't be the only one heading into winter already experiencing signs of denim fatigue. Throughout the fall, I've been wearing jeans constantly—initially paired with T-shirts, tank tops, and lightweight jackets, and more recently, with chunky sweaters, leather or suede outerwear, and even oversized fluffy coats. Jeans are popular for a reason, but eventually, I find myself yearning for a different pant style to switch things up, even if it’s just a couple of times a week. For me, leather pants are always the answer, and after browsing through Hailey Bieber's Instagram photos from her recent trip to Japan with Justin, I can tell we're on the same page. Like me, she's choosing leather pants whenever her denim choices need a break.

      Specifically, Bieber wore a pair of straight-leg, slightly tapered black leather pants while in Tokyo, pairing them with a vintage Issey Miyake brown jacket that had a funnel neck, pleated accents, and black buttons. She complemented her look with a vintage Mercedes-Benz baseball cap, an oversized clutch by Phoebe Philo, wire-rimmed sunglasses, and simple black kitten heels.

      What makes leather pants such a fantastic alternative to denim is that they can be styled in the same ways with similar pieces. It's a seamless exchange. In Bieber's case, she could have easily opted for vintage jeans, but since she had already worn the same Levi's (sourced from her favorite, Denim by Orlee) several times during her trip, switching to leather pants was a simple choice that added a bit of variety to her vacation outfits. Leather pants also tend to elevate an outfit more than jeans (particularly light-wash ones) due to their luxurious material.
