Starry, Shimmery, and Far From Ordinary: If You’re going to purchase just one makeup item for New Year’s Eve, I urge you to choose this one.
(Image credit: @kaitlyn_mclintock) Let me be clear: I adore New Year's Eve makeup, and the timeless styles remain classic for a reason. You can't go wrong with red lipstick or glittery eyeshadow. However, after years of sticking to the same makeup looks, I’m craving something new and different this year. I still want it to be shiny, shimmery, and festive, but I’m looking for something that's far from dull or ordinary. Enter Danessa Myricks' Colorfix Stix. When these multi-use pigment sticks came to my attention, I couldn't help but let out a shriek of excitement. They're shimmering and star-like! They have a celestial vibe! They are just calling out to be worn on December 31.
Each Colorfix Stix has dual ends. One side features a metallic pigment, while the other offers a complementary or matching holographic pigment. You can use them individually or combine them to create a unique appearance. Both ways, they’re stunning. You can apply a bit and blend it out with your fingers for a subtle, sheer shimmer, or layer it for a more dramatic, eye-catching effect. Since they’re versatile, you can apply them on your eyes, cheeks, and lips.
(Image credit: @kaitlyn_mclintock) Here’s a close look at the Colorfix Stix in real life. As you can see, they don't have a chunky glitter texture or a soft shimmer finish. They’re metallic, holographic, and deliver the coolest, wet-look foil finish I’ve ever encountered. In this image, I'm wearing Duo #3: Solar Flare & Lunar Veil. Solar Flare is a metallic "sunset bronze" with gold shimmer, while Lunar Veil is an antique bronze foil with champagne sparkle. When worn together, they create a beautiful bronze-gold effect.
Two aspects make these multi-use pigments stand out: the formula (obviously!) and the "mix-and-match freedom system." First, unlike chunky, gritty glitter eyeshadows, these are smooth, creamy, and cooling, thanks to a formula comprised of over 50% water. (They feel like a water burst on the skin, and once set, you won't even realize you have makeup on.) Second, the packaging is magnetic, allowing you to detach each pigment and pair it with another from a different duo. For instance, I often combine Lunar Veil from Duo #3 with Cassiopeia from Duo #5. The packaging is brilliant—ideal for any professional or self-declared makeup enthusiast.
