I Tested Korea's Innovative "Pudding Blush" Trend, and I've Never Appeared So Airbrushed.
It's undeniable that K-beauty is experiencing a resurgence right now. While the spotlight often shines on Korean skincare, the makeup sector is gradually gaining traction in popularity. Many K-beauty brands are recognized for their innovative approaches, leading to viral trends on social media, with the latest being "pudding blush." When I first encountered this on my TikTok feed, I was curious. Although I typically apply my blush with an angled stippling brush, the Korean brand Fwee is presenting a new perspective. To achieve a flawlessly airbrushed wash of color, the brand has developed a soft, cushiony, pudding-like formula that looks stunning on the skin. I'll be honest; I usually do not delve into blush trends as I prefer to keep that aspect of my makeup routine simple. However, this specific formula and trend have completely won me over. It also includes another distinctive item that I believe is the key to perfecting the look. If you’ve seen this trend on your feed and are curious about its performance in real life, keep reading. I tested this viral blush and I'm sharing my thoughts below.
Fwee
Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot
First, let’s discuss this formula. Generally, I am a fan of cream blush. I've tried various excellent formulas that provide a beautiful, naturally sun-kissed appearance, but this one is unique. It has an almost cream-to-powder texture that feels a bit unusual at first; however, once applied to the skin, it transforms beautifully. The blush comes with an unusual round silicone brush that helps you stipple it into your skin for an airbrushed effect. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive when I read about its intense pigmentation. Don't get me wrong; I appreciate color-rich makeup, but with blush, too much can easily lead to clownishness, which is hard to fix. However, I can confidently say that this is a well-formulated, pigmented blush. It applies with a vibrant hue, but somehow it melts and blends seamlessly into the skin without appearing harsh or overwhelming. What kind of sorcery is this?! As I mentioned, the formula has a distinct texture. While it leans more towards a pudding-like feel, there’s a slight chalkiness that probably contributes to the magic once applied. It's also very buildable, allowing for a more subtle application or a bolder look depending on your preference. The brush is a complete game changer. It's tiny and round but flat on top, perfect for achieving that airbrushed finish. It works beautifully, and while using my fingers is effective as well, the brush's shape really helps the product meld into the skin, resulting in a seamless, doll-like finish that I adore. I also appreciate that the shades cater well to Black and Brown skin tones. Even in 2025, finding the right eyeshadow palette, blush, or bronzer for my skin tone can still be a challenge. These shades offer vibrancy without being overwhelming. Priced at $20, it’s reasonable for a blush these days, so I’m likely to pick up a few more colors since I had such a positive experience with the shade Memories (as shown above).
