I tested Kendall Jenner's go-to mascara—priced at $16—and it provided my lashes with fluttery, extension-like length.

I've been fortunate to have my makeup done by professional makeup artists a few times throughout my life. Whenever they ask about my ideal lash look, I nearly shout, "Kendall Jenner!" I've always admired how long, fluttery, and natural her lashes appear, whether she's taking a selfie at home or walking the red carpet in full glam. In the past, I considered getting lash extensions to replicate that look, but I lean toward a low-maintenance routine with fewer beauty appointments. Additionally, I occasionally embrace the no-mascara trend. So, I use mascara instead.

Recently, I tried a new mascara that Kendall Jenner is said to use and love, and I understand why. Its slim, stiff brush and adaptable formula provide me with long, Jenner-like lashes. The best part? It's a drugstore product, costing only $16 per tube. Keep reading to find out why it's now my favorite mascara, and don't miss my before-and-after photos.

      L'Oréal

Extensionist Lengthening and Curling Washable Mascara

Here it is—L'Oréal's Extensionist Lengthening and Curling Washable Mascara. This is the brand's latest release, with Jenner as the face of the campaign as L'Oréal's global ambassador. It promises lengthening and curling benefits (more details on that shortly).

For context, I've only discovered two mascaras that help me achieve Jenner-like lashes. The first is Refy's Lash Sculpt Lengthen and Lift Mascara ($28), my go-to off-duty mascara for years due to its curved brush that lifts and separates my lashes without looking clumpy. It's the ideal "no-makeup makeup" mascara. The second is another drugstore option—Maybelline's Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara ($11). Several celebrity makeup artists, including Kelli Anne Sewell and Alexandra French, have recommended it to me. It's lengthening, lifting, and curling without ever flaking or clumping.

When I learned L'Oréal was launching a new mascara aimed at replicating the look of lash extensions, I was cautiously optimistic (as I had been disappointed by similar products before). However, this one truly exceeded my expectations. Check out my before-and-after photos as evidence.

      Before

My lashes are naturally long but sparse and stick straight.

      After

This is the result of one(!) coat of L'Oréal's Extensionist Mascara.

I was genuinely impressed with this mascara. The formula is thin, buildable, and flexible, meaning it doesn't clump, flake, or become crusty throughout the day. The standout feature, though, is the brush. It's a short, dense plastic brush (my favorite!). It applies just the right amount of mascara, sweeping up and out for amazing lift and length.

The effect lasted all day through a busy, 14+ hour workday. When it was time to wash it off, I didn't need a heavy, oily makeup remover. The washable formula came off easily with my regular cleanser—simple on and simple off.

I've worn it nearly every day since I first tried it, and I'm excited to say I've found my third go-to mascara for achieving Kendall-level lashes.
