Staying Ahead: 4 Trends WWW Editors Are Prioritizing for 2026
We've been engaged in extensive discussions at the Who What Wear offices about the future of fashion in 2026, whether by examining the most influential styles from the spring/summer 2026 runways or tracking the emergence of early trends within the fashion community. Although the year has just begun, there have already been noticeable changes in the style landscape, significantly influenced by shifts in creative directors at major fashion houses and the new concepts that are emerging as a result. How will this wave of transformation reflect in what fashion enthusiasts will wear this year? To gain an early perspective, I consulted WWW's team of editors to share the trends they are adopting first in order to stay ahead of the curve. Below, you'll find predictions from fashion editors about the trends that will be prominent in 2026 and that they are already incorporating into their wardrobes.
A Focus on Color
(Image credit: Launchmetrics) "Color was a prominent feature in the spring/summer 2026 collections, whether through the combination of contrasting shades or by introducing a vibrant hue to dark neutrals. In the upcoming year, I'm looking forward to drawing inspiration from these runway showcases and incorporating more color into my personal style. I'm particularly interested in Loewe's collection for its thoughtful and tasteful use of color, such as layering differently colored button-down shirts and sweaters, topped with a black jacket to achieve a polished and practical appearance. I'm excited to try this styling technique, especially since my wardrobe mainly consists of black pieces." — Nikki Chwatt, associate editor

For 2026, I'm drawn to gorgeous textured styles, like this stunning suede piece from Chanel. While I cherish my classic leather bags, a striking suede option will enhance any outfit I wear." — Bobby Schuessler, shopping director

All-Out '80s
(Image credit: Launchmetrics) "I’ve been really enjoying the recent resurgence of '80s motifs on the runways. Notably, Chloé, Saint Laurent, and Alaïa are embracing this era and its revival. Who doesn’t love a nostalgic touch? In the new year, I aim to experiment with bold color combinations, heavy-shouldered jackets, and striking blouses." — Sierra Mayhew, editor

Two-Tone Heels
(Image credit: Launchmetrics) "I can’t stop thinking about the two-tone heels from Matthieu Blazy's inaugural collections for Chanel. The contemporary designs he created are certainly the 2026 version of Chanel's classic cap-toe shoes, but the two-tone heels showcased on the runway were just as timeless as Chanel's traditional cap-toe slingbacks and ballet flats." — Allyson Payer, senior editor
