      East Coast meets Midwest: J.Crew has teamed up with the renowned denim brand Lee to create a capsule collection that blends J.Crew's preppy roots with Lee's classic Americana. Our editor took a closer look at the collection. Combining our current style inspirations (ahem, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy) with a touch of cowgirl spirit, we styled five exceptionally chic spring outfits. Selecting pieces from both the men's and women's collections, we left the fitting room with a renewed appreciation for J.Crew Men's offerings. Think oversized Oxford shirts, durable denim jackets, and perfectly baggy jeans. That's exactly what we discovered in the Lee X J.Crew collection. Denim was certainly a focal point. The Vintage Straight Leg jeans stood out, while the Denim Skirt made me crave warmer temperatures. Additionally, the Men's Storm Rider Denim Jacket has firmly established J.Crew Men's as a go-to.

      Western Shirt + Vintage Straight Jean

      I'm wearing the Western shirt in Daffodil Oxford paired with the Storm Rider denim jacket from the Men's section (there's also a women's version at a lower price). I've recently been fond of a double-collar style, so I popped the collar of the Oxford shirt over the jacket's corduroy accent. Once I did that, I fully embraced the Western aesthetic. Tucked into the vintage straight jeans (note, you might want to size up), I secured the oversized button-down with a woven leather belt. I completed the cowgirl-inspired outfit with a pair of cowprint ballet flats. This isn't a look I typically gravitate toward, but upon exiting the fitting room, I received compliments.

I actually prefer the men's pieces in this collaboration, and these white jeans along with the matching trucker jacket quickly became my favorites.       "I've been on the hunt for a denim pencil skirt for over six months, inspired by styles from Tom Ford's Gucci days and one I spotted at Khaite's S/S 26 show. Thus, I was thrilled to find this classic option in J.Crew's Lee collaboration. I love the timeless wash and how it complements the collection's denim jacket. I tried on the men's jacket, and the combination of a more feminine skirt with an oversized topper—especially with its plaid lining—struck a cool balance." — Huber

      This blue-and-white striped Oxford shirt is another great find from J.Crew Men's. I'm no stranger to browsing men's racks, where I've discovered some of my coziest sweaters, perfectly oversized button-downs, and the best baggy jeans. They serve as excellent layering pieces and essential wardrobe staples. As this fitting shows, the Men's version of the collection stands out. I paired the western shirt over a fitted rib tank top and the vintage straight jeans. I echo Eliza's sizing advice; I suggest going up one or two sizes to achieve the intended slim-straight silhouette. Out of sight, I added suede driving loafers to round out the look. Their soft structure enhanced the relaxed ensemble.
