I Research Brands for a Living—24 Beauty Products I'm Planning to Buy Next Payday.
Shop in Shop is a monthly feature that highlights the newest arrivals, seasonal styles, and trends from our preferred brands and retailers. On the surface, being a fashion or beauty editor appears to be a dream job, filled with exciting events, celebrity interviews, front-row access at fashion shows, and opportunities to try out new products. However, behind the scenes, there are virtual meetings with brand founders, discussions about product development over coffee, and lengthy email threads concerning messaging. Therefore, when I say "I shop for a living," I really mean "I study brands for a living." This market research often leads to a mountain of packages in my receiving area and articles for your enjoyment (and shopping!).
As we move into a new season, I have four brands that I frequently reach for, encompassing everything from bodycare and skincare to makeup and fragrance. For those who adjust their beauty routines with the changing seasons, I've curated some delightful beauty products that will add a touch of luxury to your spring experience. Discover body oils, snail mucin serums, cream-to-powder blush, and musky scents outlined below.
My colleagues introduced me to Cyklar at the end of 2025, and it has since become essential to my bodycare regimen. When guests visit, I always make sure to leave the body wash and oil in the bathroom, and they consistently rave about how amazing they smell and feel. My shower routine wouldn't be complete without Vanilla Verve, but I'm eager to try the Naked Neroli deodorant gel and the Milky Essence that our senior beauty editor Jamie Schneider recommends.
Cyklar
- Vanilla Verve Vitamin C Body Oil With Ectoin
- Naked Neroli Mandelic Acid Brightening Deodorant Gel
- Bergamot Bond Urea Hand Cream With Ectoin and Squalane
- Sacred Santal Sensorial Body Wash for Moisture Barrier
- Ceramide Milky Essence for Full-Body Hydration
- Amber Hour Roll-On Perfume Oil With Palo Santo and Tonka Bean
My admiration for Prada is limitless, so I'm particularly fond of Prada Beauty's collection of luxurious products. Sabrina Carpenter's blue lip balm from her "Please Please Please" music video in 2024 has remained a favorite since it sold out. The brand continues to unveil exciting new products, including a cream-to-powder blush, blurring concealer, and Pradascope mascara (have you seen that wand?).
Prada Beauty
- Micro-Correcting Blurring Concealer With Peptides - Dc9
- Touch Cream-To-Powder Soft Blur Longwear Blush - P72 Dahlia
- Pradascope Lash Lifting & Lengthening Mascara
- Hydrating Lip Balm With Jojoba Oil in Astral Pink
- Pradalines Gliding Waterproof Smudge Proof Eye Pencil
- Reveal Skin-Optimizing Refillable Soft Matte Foundation in Lc5
Believe it or not, I'm relatively new to fragrances, and Dossier has provided a wonderful introduction to finding my signature scent. It's refreshing to know that you don't have to spend a fortune to explore new notes and fragrance profiles. Currently, I’m enjoying the scent Airy Linens as a lovely transition into spring; it smells like freshly laundered clothes! I’ll be indulging in all of the scents listed below for the foreseeable future.
Dossier Originals
- Airy Linens
- Musky Buttercream
- Dulce Flor
- Lost Americana
- It Factor
Until I fulfill my dream of visiting South Korea to explore all the K-beauty markets, I’ll make do with the Korean skincare products available to me in the U.S. The competition is fierce, but Beauty of Joseon is currently at the top of my list. It's not only affordable but also effective. I recently received a facial using their products, and my skin looked incredible afterward. After just a few weeks of using them, I've already noticed improvements in my skin’s hydration and overall glow.
Beauty of Joseon
- Revive Firming Moisturizer: Ginseng + Retinol
- Revive Under Eye Patch: Ginseng + Retinal
- Revive Serum: Ginseng + Snail Mucin
- Ginseng Cleansing Oil
- Red Bean Water Gel
- Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser
