This Denim Trend Has Made a Comeback: I Never Imagined Wearing These Jeans, Yet Now They’re the Most Stylish Piece in My Wardrobe.
There was a time when everyone in the fashion scene I knew was sporting split-hem jeans. The trend seemed to decline momentarily, but it's making a comeback now. Jennifer Lawrence was seen in a pair of split-hem pants last fall, and I took notice of the style for myself. About a month ago, I visited an Anine Bing store, and when a sales associate suggested I try the Roy Jeans, I instantly rekindled my love for the split-hem denim trend. I didn't anticipate liking them, especially since I typically prefer loose, longline styles, but once I put on this Anine Bing pair, the way the side slit allowed the fabric to fall perfectly over my shoes won me over completely. That one design feature just works so well.
While shopping at a local boutique, I spotted a woman picking up a pair of split-hem jeans from Citizens of Humanity. Naturally, I had to take a closer look, and the forward design only deepened my affection for the trend. Just so you know, I usually style my jeans with loafers and sneakers, but I believe they’re stylish with everything from ballet flats to ankle boots as well. Below, you'll find how I'm styling the Anine Bing split-hem jeans in question. I've also gathered my favorite pairs to shop if you're interested in getting back into this trend.
Trying On My Favorite Split-Hem Jeans

How to Style the Jeans
(Image credit: @bobbyschuessler) I pair my split-hem jeans with sneakers and loafers. I just adore how the slit lays over the top and side of the shoes.
Here's Anine Bing herself in the Roy Jeans. The leopard-print ballet flats look very stylish with the split hem. Of course, a gray sweater paired with a blazer is always a reliable choice with denim.
Note to self: Tuck a gray sweater into the jeans.
