      There was a period when everyone in the fashion scene I knew was wearing split-hem jeans. The trend seemed to lose some steam for a while, but it’s back in full swing now. Jennifer Lawrence sported a pair of split-hem pants last fall, and I took notice for myself. About a month ago, I visited an Anine Bing store, and when the sales associate suggested I try the Roy Jeans, I immediately rekindled my love for the split-hem denim trend. I didn’t expect to enjoy it, especially since I typically opt for loose, longline silhouettes, but once I tried on this Anine Bing pair, the way the side slit allowed the fabric to drape beautifully over my shoes won me over completely. That one design detail is just effective.

      While shopping at a local boutique, I spotted a woman picking up a pair of split-hem jeans from Citizens of Humanity. Naturally, I checked them out, and the contemporary style deepened my affection for the trend even further. For your information, I generally pair my jeans with sneakers and loafers, but I believe they look stylish with everything from ballet flats to ankle boots as well. Below, you’ll see how I’m styling the Anine Bing split-hem jeans in question. I’ve also compiled some of my favorite options for those who wish to embrace this trend again.
