      I used to view lavender as a scent with two specific purposes: either sprayed on my pillow to help me drift off after a stressful day or placed in linen drawers, just like my mother and grandmother did, to keep towels and bedding lightly scented. Would I ever view it as a top contender for best perfumes? Honestly, lavender seemed a bit too prim and powdery for my taste, reminiscent of something my grandmother might wear. I'm not here to criticize what fragrances people enjoy; for instance, I have a strong affection for rose perfumes—another note commonly associated with our grandparents’ era. Yet, Su Aye notes that due to its "multifaceted nature," lavender certainly has a place in wearable fragrances as well. This multifaceted quality allows it to pair effectively with a broad range of other notes, appealing to modern fragrance enthusiasts. “We’re excited about contemporary scents reworking lavender and using it in more inventive and interesting combinations,” Su Aye shares. “It’s been fascinating to see lavender integrated unexpectedly in gourmand fragrances, partnered with vibrant and green notes to enhance its freshness, or even more daringly combined with deeper notes like leather and smoke.
