In New York, there's a peculiar occurrence each spring where the city seems to awaken all at once. Like the magnolia trees that transition from bare branches to vibrant blooms seemingly overnight, New Yorkers emerge from their winter hibernation en masse, flocking to every patio and park bench the moment the sun appears. The city is currently buzzing with energy as everyone seeks to reclaim some of the time lost during a lengthy winter, which, in true New York style, translates to maximized social calendars.
It's clear that one of the most defining aspects of New York in any season is the nightlife. Whether it’s enjoying a drink, visiting an art gallery, exploring a new boutique, or browsing a vintage market, there's an abundance of events and attractions calling out to you at all times. This can feel overwhelming on a Friday afternoon when the familiar "what should we do tonight?" text appears in the group chat. To cut through the noise of TikTok reviews and "best of New York" lists, trust me on this: These eight art exhibits, restaurant openings, vintage markets, and private members clubs should be at the top of your spring agenda. Discover them here, along with outfit suggestions that capture the essence of each event.

The vast array of world-class art museums in New York is one of the primary reasons boredom is never an option, and this spring, there's particularly thrilling lineup of exhibits, none more eagerly awaited than Frida and Diego: The Last Dream. Cafe Commerce, 964 Lexington Avenue
As someone who resides in a quasi-downtown area, I reluctantly acknowledge that Uptown is gradually becoming the new downtown. On a recent sunny Saturday afternoon, I spent time at one of Cafe Commerce's European-style tables lining Lexington Avenue and can verify that, at least for that moment, it felt like the center of the universe. Despite being relatively new, this French-inspired bistro has quickly become a quintessential cozy neighborhood hangout—and with just 40 seats, one of the toughest reservations to snag. Come here for a relaxing dinner, a sunny brunch, or a solo drink at the bar, but make sure to indulge in the towering and iconic coconut cake.

Moss, 520 Fifth Avenue
Private members clubs are plentiful these days, so I usually wouldn’t pay much attention to the opening of a new one. Then I heard about Moss. At a fashion week dinner, a seatmate couldn’t stop talking about this chic, wellness-focused club, and as soon as I saw images of its stunning marble-lined saunas and distressed-leather gym equipment, I was already planning a visit. Located in Midtown and emphasizing well-being and community—or intellectual leisure as per their Instagram bio—Moss stands in stark contrast to the nightlife-driven clubs crowding downtown. It's spread across several levels: Bedrock Aquatics and Athletics
