A new shooting block of the film "Fair Play" with Pavel Priluchny and Nika Zdoryk has started at the Olympic courts in Sochi.
The film companies GOPKINS FILM and GOLDFIELD ENTERTAINMENT, together with the RSHDI Academy, GALAKTIKA production, and k’Levofilm, have begun shooting the Sochi block of the feature film "Fair Play" — a sports comedy about rivalry, ambition, friendship, and the price of victory. The project is directed by Igor Dneprov ("We Are Not Children"). The distributor is "Arna Media."
The plot centers around two friends: gifted tennis player Nadia (Maria Grishina) and bold rebel Angelina nicknamed Gelik (Nika Zdorik). One gets a chance to break into big sports, while the other tries to escape from debts and the past. Together, they find themselves in the world of professional tennis, where the game quickly goes beyond the court: rivalry, a love triangle, financial blackmail, and adult pressure turn the tournament into a test of character, honesty, and loyalty to oneself.
One of the key storylines of the film is formed by the characters played by Pavel Priluchny and Yan Tsapnik. Pokrovsky, played by Priluchny, is an influential man and the father of one of the athletes, who intervenes in the club's processes and uses his influence to promote his daughter's interests and pressure those who stand in his way. Zubilin (Yan Tsapnik) is an old-school coach who sides with Nadia and Gelik and tries to preserve their chance to stay in sports despite this pressure.
Filming takes place in Sochi at active tennis courts with the support of the Adler Tennis Academy, which provided venues, athletes, and doubles for the shoot. The project is also partnered with Sochi Park Hotel — where international-level athletes and coaches stayed during the Olympic Games. The film team works and lives in these locations, preserving their atmosphere on screen. Also involved is Mantera Resort & Congress, which provided unique locations for the filming process. Igor Dneprov, the director, said: "I didn't want to shoot a 'commercial' film where everything looks luxurious. I want to give the audience truth and honesty on screen. In cinema, there is a concept of 'stealing a shot,' where you can choose a convenient angle and create the desired illusion. But I am convinced that art is about living energy. And when the actors and the entire crew work on the courts where the Olympic Games took place, where the best tennis players in the world competed, it cannot help but leave its mark on the frame."
Pavel Priluchny, actor: "Athletes are a special category of people; they know the value of victory and its true taste. Living the life of a sports hero, even if only on screen, is an amazing acting challenge. My character is quite ambiguous, neither positive nor negative, which makes it all the more interesting to tell his story and play his Fair Play."
Nika Zdorik, actress: "My acquaintance with tennis began through cinema — I started training at 18 and truly fell in love with this sport. So now my big dream is coming true — to play a tennis player. Tennis occupies a special place in my life: I try to play whenever I have free time, and during filming, my friends and I hardly leave the court — we train during every break. I feel very close to my character: she is strong, bold, combative, yet vulnerable. In this character, I see a lot of myself." "Fair Play," 12+
