The custom Chanel dress worn by Margot Robbie at the Met Gala required 761 hours to create.
Margot Robbie has been an ambassador for Chanel for a long time. She officially partnered with the French fashion house in 2018, wearing designs by Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard at numerous red carpet events, including the Met Gala. Although Robbie has showcased various designs by Matthieu Blazy since he took over the brand last year, tonight marks her first Met Gala look created by the new creative director. The golden draped lamé gown features a cascade of ruffles at the back, adorned with feathers and flower petals. This elaborate design includes 1,080 embroidered elements and required 761 hours to create. Robbie's look was further enhanced with Chanel High Jewelry, featuring rings and chandelier earrings that align with the heirloom jewelry trend emerging in 2026. Below, more details on Margot Robbie’s custom Chanel ensemble for the 2026 Met Gala.
