The subject of shoes is often controversial, but I (which means me) feel like we're finally making progress. With spring and summer weather in New York—assuming it actually becomes consistent—there’s a delightful selection of shoes for the warmer months. Unlike the winter months on the East Coast, where enclosed shoes dominate, the spring and summer seasons allow for an exciting variety of styles that are both fun and versatile. There’s something particularly thrilling about styles we can’t wear all year, making them even more enjoyable to wear. Here are my preferred styles, and I’m excited to incorporate them, whether for work or weekends.
**Flip-Flops**
I'm absolutely in love with the thong sandal as a stylish choice. This pop of red looks amazing with an all-black ensemble, and the croc design from Loeffler Randall is another favorite. They’re comfortable, and many brands have now crafted more luxurious versions suitable for work as well.
- ZARA Flat Leather Sandals
- Loeffler Randall Lina Espresso Leather Flip Flops
- Jamie Haller The San Diego Sandals
- St Agni Classic Thong Slides
**Fisherman Sandals**
I still believe that fisherman styles are trendy! They provide a closed-toe option that pairs well with jeans for work and can easily transition to shorts and a top on weekends.
- Larroudé Stevie Flat Sandals
- Freda Salvador Sera Fisherman Sandals
- Madewell The Milano Fisherman Sandals
- Rothy's The Fisherman Sandals
**Strappy, Flat Black Sandals**
Margaux always impresses me, and this particular style excels in comfort and practicality. Black sandals are essential for easily enhancing any outfit.
- Margaux The Palermo Sandals
- A.EMERY The Elmer Sandals
- Reformation Pina Flat Sandals
**Sporty Shoes/Mesh Flats**
Initially, I wasn’t convinced about this style, but I've completely warmed up to the sporty/mesh look of these shoes. They are incredibly comfortable (think 10,000 steps or more in the city) and effortlessly elevate an all-white outfit or a skirt.
- Loeffler Randall Raina Dark Brown Mesh Flats
**Gold Sandals**
My gold Ancient Greek Sandals have been an excellent investment, and I've been wearing them for years. A gold sandal is always a wise choice, adding a touch of sparkle to any spring or summer ensemble without being excessive.
- ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS Eleftheria Braided Metallic Leather Sandals
- Emme Parsons Susan in Washed Gold Nappa
- TKEES Mariana Metallic Sandals
- AEYDE Ella Gold Leather Flat Sandals
**Low Block Heels**
Looking to elevate your work attire? Planning to meet friends for a post-work drink? Dining out with your kids? Low block heels are your best ally. I'm particularly fond of colorful options for the warmer seasons.
- ZARA Leather Heeled Mules
- ZARA Suede Heeled Sandals
**Raffia Shoes**
I adore anything made of raffia for the summer—it’s unique and not something we typically wear year-round. Plus, it’s perfect for vacations and pairs effortlessly with summer dresses.
- Ancient Greek Sandals Kardia Natural
- Loeffler Randall Nico Sandals
- Jack Rogers Margo Raffia Sandals
