My inbox is overflowing with fashion collaborations—however, this Manolo Blahnik x Balenciaga one actually caught my attention.

      Pierpaolo Piccioli, the newly appointed creative director of Balenciaga, is candid about his reasons for the collaboration. “This partnership emerged from very personal motivations. I simply appreciate Manolo. That’s all," Piccioli stated. "I know him on a personal level and have respected his work for many years," he added. "For me, Manolo Blahnik embodies elegance, and being Spanish like Cristóbal Balenciaga, there’s a shared sensibility between them." The collaboration features three crystal-adorned styles: slingback heels, slingback kitten heels, and slingback mules. The first style is available in four colors: black, gray, yellow, and green. The kitten heels can be found in black and purple, while the mules come in black and green. "Asymmetrical crystal leaf embellishments are hand-embroidered to cascade over a low-cut vamp, reflecting Blahnik’s unique ability to combine preciousness and grace, merging jewelry with footwear," Balenciaga detailed in a press release. "These sophisticated touches also evoke the archival bijoux from Balenciaga's 1960s collections, highlighting the enduring connection and aesthetic harmony between the creators."
