My inbox is overflowing with fashion collaborations—this Manolo Blahnik x Balenciaga one actually got me to click.

      Balenciaga's recently appointed creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, speaks candidly about the collaboration. "This partnership emerged for deeply personal reasons. I simply like Manolo. That’s all," Piccioli expressed in a statement. Fair enough! "I have known him personally and have admired him for quite a while," he added. "For me, Manolo Blahnik represents elegance, and since he is Spanish like Cristóbal Balenciaga, there’s a certain mutual sensibility." The new collaboration features three crystal-adorned styles: slingback heels, slingback kitten heels, and slingback mules. The slingback heels are available in four colors: black, gray, yellow, and green. The kitten heels come in black and purple, while the mules are offered in black and green. "Asymmetrical crystal leaf accents are hand-embroidered to cascade over a low-cut vamp, reflecting Blahnik’s unique talent for blending luxurious detail and elegance, merging jewelry with footwear," Balenciaga described in a press release. "These sophisticated elements also evoke the fashion house's 1960s archival bijoux, highlighting a consistent relationship and aesthetic harmony between the designers."
