Phlur has just introduced two new tropical fragrances for the summer—I’m excited for sunshine, beaches, and compliments.

      If you know me, you know that I'm a huge fan of Phlur. In fact, that might be an understatement. I absolutely adore their signature fragrances, such as Tangerine Boy (the most delicious citrus scent I’ve ever encountered), Father Figure (a rich, dew-drenched fig fragrance), and Missing Person (a light, cozy musk that has become my "signature scent"). And don’t get me started on their body mists—I probably have nearly every one, but recently, I've been reaching for Beach Skin the most. It’s an enchanting, sun-kissed fragrance with notes of bergamot, salted tiare flower, and sandalwood. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to discover that Phlur introduced two new summer fragrances. I had high hopes, which is why I waited to share this news until I could try them out for myself. Now that I have, I can confidently say they encapsulate summer in a bottle. They’re bright, fresh, and tropical, and I've officially become obsessed. So, let me present Island Swim and Paradise Nectar.

      Island Swim is a lively, sunny scent that evokes "salty skin and sunlit waves." It starts with bright citrus notes led by bergamot and calamansi (a hybrid between mandarin orange and kumquat). This is followed by gentle coconut and coastal florals before warming into sandalwood and amber. "Island Swim is my tribute to your first dive into the warm ocean," says perfumer Clement Gavarry. "It’s that moment when salt embraces your skin and everything feels fresh, radiant, and effortless. I blended zesty citrus, creamy coconut, and ocean-kissed florals to encapsulate the essence of a perfect tropical swim."

      **Paradise Nectar**

      Key notes: Black currant, mandarin, lotus flower, patchouli

      If Island Swim feels like a refreshing sea plunge, then Paradise Nectar resembles a stroll through a sun-soaked tropical garden. This fruity-floral fragrance is filled with lush black currant and vibrant mandarin. Tuberose, one of my favorite fragrance notes, adds warmth and sweetness, complemented by the ethereal quality of lotus flower. Finally, earthy patchouli brings to mind the stems and leaves of plants reaching for the sun. "Paradise Nectar was inspired by the sensation of wandering through a sunlit coastal garden, where ripe fruits and wildflowers intertwine on a warm breeze," writes perfumer Elena Valdivieso-Ruiz. "I combined bright citrus, delicate blooms, and warm woods to capture that refreshing, lively escape."
