If you’re anything like me today, you’re happily checking the weather forecast for the upcoming days and looking forward to a long weekend of uninterrupted sunshine. It feels as though summer has officially arrived, prompting me to plan out my summer nail designs and even consider my vacation nails. While scrolling through my social media feeds today, I immediately stopped at a glazed manicure, but not the typical milky nails — rather, prismatic pool chrome nails, which are absolutely perfect for the season.
This stunning chrome manicure by Mateja Novakovic caught my attention. Following the trend set by the recent Chanel Cruise "mermaid" nails, it appears that colorful shimmers and chrome finishes are a definite nail trend for summer 2026. I'm usually a fan of pink or milky chrome nails, but the sheer pink base paired with this blue chrome powder manicure beautifully embodies summer without being over the top. It catches the light in such a lovely manner, reminiscent of how sunlight reflects off a glittering pool on a hot, UV index 8 day.
Novakovic achieved this prismatic effect using Manucurist's Blue Glazed Powder over her nail polish. Although she hasn’t specified the exact shade she used for the base, I suspect it’s Manucurist Hortencia, a sheer pink polish she frequently uses in her nail art. The transparent base allows the chrome powder to truly shine, providing a glimpse of aquatic blue whenever the light hits your hands.
