I surveyed Gen Z about their summer outfits, and these trends were consistently mentioned.
As summer approaches, one thing I have confidence in is a fashion-savvy woman who understands what's emerging. Not in a way that's focused on chasing trends, but rather through a more instinctive, lively, and thrilling perspective. Therefore, instead of compiling another "summer trends" piece, I reached out to some of my favorite voices on social media. These are the women on my FYP who consistently grab my attention and inspire me to add items to my cart. I consulted a selection of chic Gen Zers, ranging from trouser enthusiasts to coastal dressers and minimalists who embrace fringe, to find out what they're currently wearing, purchasing, and enthusiastic about. The outcome? A blend of outfit ideas, lesser-known brands, and specific trends that feel individual and genuinely practical. Consider this your ultimate guide for a fabulous summer wardrobe.
Distinct Perspective
London Boscamp (@lboscamp)
What's one trend you're most looking forward to this summer?
I'm really into all the fringe and lace details emerging right now. Both trends bring so much movement to an outfit without feeling excessive. Fringe is playful and perfect for summer gatherings or vacations, while I’ve always adored how romantic lace can be when presented in a contemporary style. Zimmermann does a remarkable job capturing both aesthetics and makes garments that feel effortlessly feminine, chic, and very wearable.
Are there any brands you're excited about as the season approaches?
I'm currently infatuated with Proenza Schouler, Posse, Destree, Éliou, and Christopher Esber. Each of them has a distinct vibe right now and creates pieces that feel fresh but still timeless.
What’s your go-to outfit formula?
I favor a matching set because it offers so many possibilities. You can wear it together for a polished look or mix and match the components separately. I have a polka-dot set from Cara Cara. It came with matching pants and a vest, and I've styled it in numerous ways. I frequently find myself reusing the pants with other essentials from my closet.
What’s something in your wardrobe that might surprise people?
Perhaps a simple workout set and sneakers. Honestly, that's what I end up wearing most on my off days.
