      As a person who stands at 5'10" and prefers not to wear heels, my closet is filled with sneakers, ballet flats, loafers, and flat sandals. However, after seeing Lily Collins's latest outfit, I realized that my collection of non-heeled footwear is lacking one particular type: jazz shoes. These shoes are similar to oxfords but are crafted from softer, more flexible leather with thinner soles, making them very fashionable at the moment. Collins showcased this shoe trend while attending fourth-round matches at the French Open in Paris. I’m not certain how much consideration she gave to her shoe choice, but they are quite appropriate for the stylish tennis tournament as they resemble the plimsolls worn by 1920s French tennis player Suzanne Lenglen, after whom one of the courts is named. More than a century later, low-profile shoes are making a comeback in 2026. As the saying goes, what goes around comes around! Just a few weeks ago, Charlize Theron was seen in a similar pair of flats in New York, further establishing this style as an emerging alternative to ballet flats for 2026.
