What is your overall makeup aesthetic? What types of looks do you typically favor?
I really love to experiment. I don’t have a fixed makeup style. For me, makeup, fashion, and hair are forms of self-expression rather than just trying to be attractive from others' viewpoints. I feel like a different person every day, so I enjoy asking myself, "Who am I today? Who do I want to be today?" Makeup, along with clothing, hair, and nails, has the power to transform, so it varies daily. However, I’m only proficient at one or two makeup styles on myself, so when I don’t have the opportunity to work with my amazing makeup artist, Kale Teter, I often fall back on similar looks. I adore a cat eye, a smoky eyeliner that gives the impression I just woke up, cream blushes, and a bold lip. Recently, I’m loving a fluffy brow. I tend to get bored and like to switch it up.
What person do you feel like today? How did you do your makeup to reflect that?
I haven’t applied any makeup today! Unless I'm heading out, I usually don’t do a lot of makeup. I might put on a bit of cream blush, and I never leave home without lip liner since I like to define my features, but I generally don’t wear makeup unless I have an appointment. When I do go out today, I’ll likely use a smudged-out tightline liner, a fluffy brow, some sunscreen, and that’ll be my look for the day.
Is there a specific eyeliner, blush, lip liner, or brow product that you can't live without?
Lately, I’ve been using soap for my eyebrows. I used to think I had very thin eyebrows, but I realized they just like to gather toward the center. With a strong soap brow (any soap works), I create a bold brow. I love Urban Decay's 24/7 Gel Eyeliners; they’re fantastic. I’ll do a black smoky tightline during the day with a bit of mascara to achieve that "I just woke up like this" look that I adore. Urban Decay also has beautiful brown lip liners. I use shades 1993 and Hidden Truth. I really love that '90s effortless vibe.
I haven’t found my ideal blush yet. Sometimes I use lipstick as blush or whatever I have in my bag. I just grab what's nearest, but if you have any recommendations for deep, cool-toned berry cream blushes, I’d love that.
Oh, that's my style too, so I can share a lot! We’ll chat about that offline.
I was going to say, "Text me!"

You've had blonde hair for most of your life, and you've mentioned that you're done with bleach. I must say, you look fantastic as a brunette. I'm curious—has your new hair color changed your beauty routine?
I definitely feel like I can wear more makeup now than when I was blonde because of the higher contrast. I have very fair skin, and when my hair was the same color as my face, the makeup could appear heavy. Now, I can wear a lot more makeup without it looking overwhelming. I need stronger brows now; otherwise, my features get lost. I fill in my brows more because they are a lighter color than my hair. I’m naturally a cool-toned Amanda Seyfried blonde, so I can’t skip filling in my brows; I look off otherwise.
I’m sure someone with a better grasp of color theory could explain this better, but I couldn't pull off berry colors before as they overwhelmed my face. Now, I can wear more intense lip colors, which is fantastic. I can be more experimental with makeup now that my hair is darker.
Just to clarify what I said earlier: I might go blonde again in the future. I'm not counting down the days for it, though. Speaking of eyebrows, I spent my whole life thinking I had fine, unhealthy hair, but I never let it grow out because I kept bleaching it. Now, I appreciate my healthier
