It’s well-known that there is a significant lack of quality plus-size clothing choices in the fashion retail industry. Nonetheless, an independent brand founded by a model is addressing this issue. Gia/IRL recently launched its inaugural bridal collection in collaboration with inclusive fashion designer Emma Arletta. "As a plus-size bride in 2025, I spent countless hours searching online and in stores for bridal attire that felt stylish, modern, and truly tailored to my body. Instead of feeling celebrated and beautiful during a season meant for that, I often felt marginalized from the traditional image of what a bride is 'supposed' to look like. That experience inspired this collection," Arletta shares.
Founder Gia Sinatra reflects on her aspiration to create a bridal line and the significance of seeing it realized. "I have wanted to introduce a bridal collection since launching the brand in 2022, the same year I got married,” Sinatra states. “This collection holds special meaning for me because it provides plus-size brides with beautiful, quality options for their special occasions, and working with Emma is a dream.”
