Co-founder Irene Chen leads this highly popular handbag brand, known for its thoughtfully designed products. Before creating some of fashion's most beloved bags, she started her career in financial consulting.
Upon graduating from UCLA with a degree in political science, she entered the financial consulting field. After a few years, she felt the urge to shift her career path into fashion. Her initial position was in the licensing department at Calvin Klein, and she later progressed at Donna Karan, ultimately becoming director of product development. It was during her fashion career that she met her husband and business partner, Matthew Grenby.
Together, they made a daring choice to start their own business, launching an e-stationery brand named Iomoi. The couple experienced several shifts in their early years, moving from digital to physical stationery and briefly venturing into homeware. Through trial and adjustments, they identified their primary focus—bags. A pivotal moment arrived when Kate Spade encouraged them to focus on functional luxury handbags. Following her advice, they rebranded as Parker Thatch.
Now, Parker Thatch remains dedicated to its core principle of functional luxury, with each item showcasing exceptional quality and outstanding craftsmanship.
