This Unexpected Celebrity Fragrance Has Attracted Numerous Compliments for Me.

      Millennials may recall the peak era of celebrity fragrances during the early to mid-2000s. At that time, it seemed every notable celebrity had their own signature scent available to the public. J.Lo introduced Glow in 2002, followed by Britney Spears with Curious in 2004, and Paris Hilton launched her eponymous fragrance. As the mid-2000s approached, stars like Taylor Swift (Wonderstruck), Beyonce (Heat), Justin Bieber (Someday), and One Direction (Our Moment) embraced the trend with their own offerings. However, at some point, celebrity fragrances started to decline, possibly when top celebrities began to create entire beauty brands—although that's a discussion for another time. Perhaps it’s just my nostalgic side, but I do miss these fragrances. Some consider them kitschy, while I view them as enjoyable, collectible items that can surprisingly earn compliments.

      This brings me to Khloé Kardashian's latest fragrance, XO Blue, which was launched earlier this month. The reality star, entrepreneur, and pop culture icon already had two fragrances available, but this marked her first seasonal release. Designed to evoke the essence of "sun on your skin, warm ocean air," and "crystal-clear waters," it's a sophisticated summery scent that drew me back into the world of celebrity fragrances after more than ten years. After trying it for a week, I can confirm its potential for garnering compliments.

Instead, it feels sophisticated and has a slight spiciness, likely due to the bergamot, ambrette, magnolia, and cedarwood notes. I'm not alone in this perception; after wearing it for a week, I received three compliments and questions about my perfume. My sister remarked, "What is that? You smell amazing," when I walked past her. A friend also said, "You smell really good," and a stranger approached me in a coffee shop asking, "Sorry to bother you, but what perfume are you wearing?" That right there indicates you’ve found something truly special, as strangers rarely stop to comment on fragrances in public.
