Contribution to the improvement and greening of the urban environment: "Island of Dreams" has planted over 27 thousand trees and shrubs in the Nagatinskaya floodplain.
The development strategy of the holding company "Island of Dreams" includes a consistent effort to create a comfortable urban environment. One of the key areas of this activity is the improvement and greening of the territory, which aligns with the principles of sustainable development and a responsible attitude towards urban space. Over the course of just six years, "Island of Dreams" has already planted more than 27,000 trees and shrubs.
The first object of the comfortable urban environment in the cluster area was the Southern Landscape Park, which opened in 2020 simultaneously with the all-season amusement park "Island of Dreams." As a result of the project implementation, a modern public space for walking, family recreation, sports activities, and city events has been created here, equipped with relaxation areas featuring wooden loungers, 8 fountains, and 5 playgrounds. Entrance to the park is free.
In the Southern Landscape Park and along the central alley, dozens of species of trees and shrubs have been planted, and numerous flower beds have been created from more than 20,000 perennial plants. Additional greening of the territory has been carried out multiple times. For example, in 2022, 85 Niedzwiecki apple trees and Siberian cedars were planted, and in 2024, 17 saplings of small-leaved linden were planted, while a whole alley of 100 maples appeared during the festive event celebrating Father's Day.
"We consider greening to be an important part of the 'Island of Dreams' concept and have been following the principles of sustainable development since the project started. Currently, the improvement of the street space of the amusement park is ongoing, where the preparation of new themed zones is nearing completion. The project takes into account the features of the natural landscape of the Nagatinskaya floodplain: specialists managed to preserve healthy trees, making them part of the theming, while new plants were planted in place of hazardous ones," noted Anna Rubtsova, the chief architect of "Island of Dreams."
The green landscape creates a comfortable environment for walking and relaxation, providing additional shaded areas. In total, more than 260 trees and over 8,000 shrubs will appear in the street part of the amusement park. Among them are: birches and maples, linden and poplars, chestnuts and bird cherries, pines and spruces, apple trees and elms. Additionally, more than ten species of deciduous shrubs have been planted: euonymus, hydrangea, willow, cornel, ninebark, serviceberry, barberry, spiraea, and other species. There are also coniferous plants: several species of thuja and juniper.
One of the most noticeable elements of the improvement will be the green maze in the themed area "Dreamchik Village." Its creation required about 1,500 saplings of thuja, juniper, and cornel.
The new themed zones and attractions of "Island of Dreams" outdoors will be available to guests after the technical launch of the facility. The grand opening will take place on September 5, on Moscow City Day. Entrance to the amusement park will require a ticket, which includes access to both the indoor and outdoor areas.
In 2014, the planning project for the Nagatinskaya floodplain with the idea of creating an amusement park won in the electronic referendum system "Active Citizen" – the idea was supported by 92% of Muscovites. In 2015, the Government of Moscow issued Resolution No. 372-PP "On the Approval of the Planning Project for the Territory of the Nagatinskaya Floodplain," and work began on the construction of the amusement park and the improvement of the territory.
