The De Santis family, who have carefully nurtured and restored the legendary Passalacqua and Grand Hotel Tremezzo, continues to write the history of the region – and they do so with impeccable taste. The family's new projects, the CASABIANCA gallery and the Boeucc restaurant, are not just points on the map but true cultural manifestos, where modernity does not dispute the past but elegantly negotiates with it.

      The CASABIANCA gallery, which opened in November 2025, instantly became a center of attraction. Today it is preparing for a new chapter: on the second floor of the 1930s villa, three exclusive suites – Selden, Spoldi, and Uberti – will open their doors. The interiors celebrate the cult of details: works by Aldo Spoldi and Simona Uberti, Rubelli fabrics, Amini carpets based on sketches by Gio Ponti and Bruno Munari, silk from the Ratti manufactory.

      Just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, another legend is being revived – the Boeucc restaurant. The setting exudes nostalgic charm: Geminiano Cozzi tableware, vintage Duralex glass, cotton napkins in traditional shades. The cuisine here is an ode to Lombardy: perch risotto based on a historical recipe, char and missoltino with polenta, and in autumn – pizzoccheri and shat from Valtellina. For dessert – rustic miasha pie and apple pancakes paradelle: simple flavors that tell the story of the region better than any guidebook.

      These projects are not just a continuation of the hotel legacy but an invitation to experience Lake Como not through the eyes but through the heart, and to prolong the magic of staying at Passalacqua and Grand Hotel Tremezzo.

      Art among the palms: designer Matthew Williamson will hold a creative residency at Finolhu Maldives

      This autumn, Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort, will continue its Art & Design program by inviting one of the most famous British designers – Matthew Williamson. From October 21 to 31, 2026, guests of the resort will be able to immerse themselves in his creative world through a series of author workshops and artistic practices inspired by the nature of the Maldives.

      Matthew Williamson is one of the most recognizable British designers, renowned for his bold use of color, expressive prints, and distinctive maximalist aesthetic. After debuting at London Fashion Week in 1997, he built an international career that extends far beyond fashion: today his work encompasses interior design, home goods, and art projects around the world.

      During the residency, the designer will conduct intimate creative workshops in the Art Lab space – Finolhu's artistic laboratory, where art becomes part of relaxation. The inspiration for the sessions will be palm trees – one of Williamson's favorite motifs and a symbol of the tropical island. Guests will learn his unique painting technique, experimenting with color, form, and composition, and will be able to take their creations home as a memento of their journey.

      Matthew Williamson's residency will continue the Art & Design program, which has already welcomed artist Sophie Tea, fashion illustrator Megan Hess, designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and artist Natasha Kumar throughout the year. In November, the baton of creative residencies will be taken up by Russian artist Yakov Khomich, who will present his own author program and a series of artistic meetings for guests at the resort.
