Hailey Bieber's nail artist has launched a new OPI collection featuring the bottled version of the celebrity glazed donut nails.

It's amusing to realize that one of the most popular nail trends of 2022 emerged entirely by chance. It all started with Hailey Bieber and her reliable nail artist Zola Ganzorigt. "Glazed donut nails" were a spontaneous idea that Ganzorigt conceived to complement Bieber's Met Gala dress in 2022. She decided to enhance Bieber's otherwise sheer manicure with OPI's Chrome Effects powder in Tin Man Can, giving it a pearly, otherworldly glow that quickly captivated the internet. Even years later, glazed donut nails remain enduringly popular. While they may have been more of a trend in previous years, Ganzorigt crafted something timeless and sophisticated. Recently, she collaborated with OPI to revitalize the glazed donut trend by creating four chrome powders compatible with a wide range of gel polishes. "This collection was inspired by the nail designs I often find myself recreating," she shares with Who What Wear. "For me, chrome has always provided a way to transform a manicure and add a new dimension to a look. I enjoy how a manicure can dramatically change based on the colors, finishes, and details you combine, and I aimed for these shades to empower people to experiment, mix, and personalize each look. Even something simple like polka-dot nails can take on a new character when chrome is layered over it." Initially, chrome shades like Tin Man Can were exclusive to professionals, making them highly desired. With this new collection, however, everyone can now purchase them and create their own looks at home. Ganzorigt shared more about her preferred uses for these shades, and I was fortunate enough to receive a set myself. Continue reading for all our thoughts and favorites.

This collection features four mirror-shine shades with a multidimensional finish: Tin Man Can Glaze, Chrome to Mama, Pearl Pressure, and Mermaid for Me. Tin Man Can Glaze is a sheer silver-white chrome; Chrome to Mama is a deeper silver; Pearl Pressure shifts between pink, purple, and blue depending on the base color; and Mermaid for Me offers an iridescent blend of blue and gold. The versatility of this collection is impressive. Ganzorigt believes there are endless possibilities when it comes to using Chrome Effects Powder, as it can instantly elevate any basic color. "The glazed donut nail look really showcased chrome's transformative ability," she states. "It's always been a go-to technique for me when designing my clients' red carpet and event manicures because it can completely alter the essence of a manicure. Since then, chrome has transitioned from a trend to a genuine staple in nail artistry. I've crafted numerous variations of the glazed donut look, but what I appreciate most about chrome is its adaptability, especially in the shades of the new Chrome Effects collection. It pairs well with every color, style, and mood." Additionally, Ganzorigt emphasizes that chrome is perfect for personalizing a manicure, giving a familiar color a fresh, unique, and completely individualized touch. She also notes that these shades work wonderfully with any color—whether you're leaning towards something neutral or wishing to try something bold. Speaking of ideal OPI shades to pair with Chrome Effects, Ganzorigt has an extensive list. "My favorite base colors to combine with chrome are Funny Bunny, Put it in Airplane Mode, Bubble Bath, and Black Onyx," she shares. "I also enjoy pairing them with any pastel lavender, blue, or yellow shades." Personally, I've combined Chrome Effects with some neutral pink DND shades and a neutral lavender, and the outcome was stunning. If you're hesitant about trying bright colors with this collection, Ganzorigt encourages you to go for it! She insists that OPI's new summer collection, Trip to the Brite Side, filled with vibrant hues, is a perfect match for Chrome Effects. "It's lively and playful. I actually created a 'cotton candy sunset' design using a few of the shades," she adds.

If you're seeking a true neutral, Ganzorigt recommends this as the best option to pair with Chrome Effects. While Tin Man Can provides a subtle look, it can also be matched with Mermaid for Me or Pearl Pressure for a more distinctive touch.

      **DND Gel Colors**

I adore DND gel shades, and these rosy neutrals complement the Chrome Effects collection beautifully. I experimented with Peach Buff alongside Tin Man Can Glaze and was thrilled with the results, but I'm also eager to see how it looks with Pearl Pressure, which shifts colors based on the base.
