Laura Harrier and the Founders of Wardrobe.NYC concur: Choose *these* H&M track pants for your next flight.
Laura Harrier was not present when I interviewed Wardrobe.NYC cofounders Christine Centenera and Josh Goot at a hotel in Paris last month. However, when I met with her a few hours later, she seamlessly continued the discussion from where they had left off. This wasn't entirely unexpected, as Harrier mentioned she is close friends with Centenera, whose collaboration with H&M debuts today. When I inquired about which item from the 29-piece collection they would wear on their next flight, Centenera, Goot, and Harrier unanimously replied: the Nylon Track Pants ($109). Now that’s what I call fashion telepathy. (These are the same pants that Teyana Taylor sported at the launch party in Paris.) Regarding styling the pants, Goot shared his thoughts: "I enjoy wearing a blazer while traveling," he told Who What Wear. "I find it very practical because it has excellent pockets, making it perfect for storing your passport and other essentials." If you agree, the Wardrobe.NYC H&M collection offers two great choices: the Double-Breasted Wool Blazer ($269) in gray and the Wool-Blend Hourglass Blazer ($269) in black.
"Part of the initial idea behind Wardrobe.NYC was imagining what pieces I would pack for a week-long trip with only a carry-on," Centenera explained to me. "That’s how we developed our neutral color palette—mainly black and white with gray included. The goal is to have versatile pieces that work the hardest for you in a variety of situations."
This capsule wardrobe concept is precisely what first appealed to Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M's head of womenswear design and creative advisor. "Wardrobe.NYC is so curated, well-balanced, and refined," she remarked to Who What Wear. "It offers a fresh perspective on quality essentials that we haven’t seen before." Further elaborating on the travel theme, Centenera mentioned, "This collection particularly supports the journey with different layering options you might need on a plane or train. When you arrive at your destination, you have pieces that transition from day to night and can suit different occasions—something active, something dressed up. I believe we've considered all aspects of a trip."
In addition to Harrier, Audrey Nuna, known from KPop Demon Hunters, is also a fan of the collaboration. "I admire that these H&M collaborations are affordable yet feature very intentional tailoring," she expressed at the launch party in Paris. "I appreciate that duality. Growing up, H&M was an accessible way to dive into fashion. It genuinely caters to everyone, and I love how these collaborations introduce a new perspective. I enjoy genre-bending, and it's impressive that H&M consistently attempts to do that."
