ROSEMARY PIKE – HEADLINER OF THE FARI ISLANDS FESTIVAL 2026 IN THE MALDIVES

The luxurious five-star resorts The Ritz-Carlton Maldives and Patina Maldives, located in the Fari archipelago, are once again coming together to host the Fari Islands Festival, which will take place from August 13 to 15, 2026. The headliner of one of the brightest cultural events in the Maldives will be Oscar-nominated actress and humanitarian Rosamund Pike.

The festival will unite music, wellness, gastronomy, art, and marine conservation initiatives. Over three days, guests at both resorts can expect a rich program inspired by the rhythm of island life: leisurely morning practices, lively discussions throughout the day, gastronomic evenings, and open-air musical performances.

Rosamund Pike will be the headliner of the festival

Laurence Olivier Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy winner, as well as an Oscar and BAFTA nominee, Rosamund Pike ("Gone Girl," "Saltburn") will be the central figure of the 2026 festival. The actress, who is no stranger to the Fari islands, has also participated in developing the concept for the new festival season.

As part of the festival, the actress will also give an author lecture on creative self-expression, dedicated to the roles that a person chooses both in their profession and in everyday life. One of the festival events will be a meditative practice by Rosamund Pike, created in collaboration with the Lumenate platform using the Nova light therapy mask designed to achieve a state of inner calm and mindfulness. A masterclass on Maldivian cuisine at the new Kandu restaurant of the Patina Maldives resort will conclude the series of events featuring the star actress.

"I am happy to return to the Fari islands as the headliner of the Fari Islands Festival. I have always been interested in how a state of inner calm and reset affects creativity, perception of the world, and the ability to truly be present in the moment. The festival creates a space where one can open up to new people and experiences, disconnect from digital noise, and feel freedom, mindfulness, and a living connection with the surrounding world. In each of our lives, there are roles we choose and live every day, and I think it is important to talk about how they shape us. I hope the festival will be a place for such open and inspiring conversations. We invite guests to join us and experience this together," says Pike.

      Festival program 2026

Alongside Rosamund Pike, the festival program will feature bright representatives from the worlds of art, design, and gastronomy. Among them is world-renowned designer Sean Wotherspoon, the creator of the iconic Nike Air Max 1/97 model. During the festival, he will conduct an art residency, during which he will create a large-scale sculpture inspired by coral reefs together with guests. After the festival, the installation will be placed in the lagoon of the Fari islands as part of a coral reef restoration program. Wotherspoon will also present an exclusive collection of festival merchandise and limited items created specifically for the resort guests.

Hong Kong-born chef Samuel Lee, founder of the Parisian neo-bistro SENsation, will introduce guests to modern Cantonese cuisine, combining the precision of Asian gastronomic traditions with subtle French accents. His signature dinners will accompany festival evenings throughout the program.

The legendary gastronomic team WAGYUMAFIA will turn dinners featuring iconic Wagyu beef into a true culinary spectacle. The Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, ranked among Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, in collaboration with the Michter’s brand, will offer signature cocktail concepts built around the art of storytelling and layered flavor experiences.

Danilo Pozzone, global brand manager of Sei Bellissimi — the official partner of The World’s 50 Best Hotels ranking — will join the festival with a series of special events dedicated to the culture of premium spirits and the art of mixology.

Joining the festival's wellness program in 2026 will be the legend of the Indian wellness movement Milind Soman — a national swimming champion of India, athlete, and public figure. Together with the Maldivian running community iRunners, he will conduct a charity run over distances of 5 and 10 km. All proceeds will be directed towards coral reef restoration as part of the ecological initiative Protect the Reef.

For the second year in a row, Bamford will be the wellness partner of the festival. In addition to a new signature treatment at the spas of both resorts, guests can expect wellness sessions and mindful movement practices led by CJ Jones-Lick and Stephanie Waxberg. The program will also feature aromatherapist Louise Ribi and the Noble Panacea brand, who will present practices dedicated to longevity, recovery, and overall well-being.

The musical program of the festival will conclude with French musician, producer, and creative visionary Sébastien Tellier, recently honored with the Order of Arts and Letters of France, and world-renowned Dutch DJ and producer FS Green, one of the leading figures in Amsterdam's electronic scene. They will be joined by Thai multidisciplinary artist and musician NOTEP, whose immersive performances combine music, nature, and storytelling. The artists' performances will be a vibrant finale to the festival.

"We are excited to welcome guests to the second Fari Islands Festival," says Oscar Postma, CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands. "The first festival showed the potential of this event. This year, the program is even more extensive: more artists, more gastronomic collaborations, and an even richer cultural program — while maintaining that special atmosphere that makes the Fari islands an ideal place for such experiences." "The Fari Islands Festival allows us to redefine the possibilities of the islands, blurring the usual boundaries between wellness, art, gastronomy, and nature," adds Anthony Gill, CEO of Patina Maldives, Fari Islands. "In its second season, the festival has become bolder and more ambitious while maintaining sincere respect for the Maldives, their nature, and the people who call them home."

Accommodation during the Fari Islands Festival can be booked on the websites of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives or Patina Maldives.
