Blanca Miró Scrimieri is currently serving as an editor-in-residence at Who What Wear UK and is a stylist based in Barcelona. She is the founder of the fashion label La Veste and co-founder of the sunglasses brand Delarge, showcasing her skills in design, creative direction, and brand development. While you might recognize Miró from her partnerships with high-end fashion brands, it’s likely her unique street style and outfit styling that have drawn you to her Instagram. When she’s not attending fashion week or working behind the scenes at La Veste, you can catch her curating elegant tablescapes on her account @blanca_a_table.

Preparing for summer is truly one of my favorite annual rituals. Not because I’m particularly organized (I’m not), but because I enjoy gathering items from around the house: a basket bag I haven’t used in ages, fruit earrings that seem fitting only in August, a cardigan that evokes memories of old sailing clubs, and five necklaces that I’ll likely wear all at once. For me, packing for a trip begins not with the suitcase, but with numerous little piles that gradually invade every corner of my home.

Having spent every summer in Menorca since 1992, the year of my birth, it’s a place where I feel the most free and calm. For some reason, it’s also where I gravitate towards the pieces that don’t get much wear throughout the year—more color, more crochet, more stripes, more accessories, and just more fun. While these items could also be worn in the city, my holiday wardrobe suggests that we could all use a bit more Menorca in our daily lives.

Before I start packing, I often lay everything out and take a photo. It’s not because I plan my outfits—something I actually dislike doing—but rather because I enjoy seeing everything together, which helps me visualize the various combinations. I can already picture the basket bag paired with a white cotton dress, striped shorts complemented by a cardigan draped over my shoulders after dinner, or layering five necklaces over the simplest shirt. My mood shifts with the weather, and if someone proposes an impromptu dinner, I usually end up wearing something entirely different (which is exactly why I don’t plan my outfits in the first place).

While I don’t pack entire looks, I do include pieces I know I’ll want to experiment with:

      - A straw basket

      - Rubber sandals

      - Fruit earrings

      - A dramatic hat

      - Striped bags

      - Sequined shorts that pair perfectly with a glass of tinto de verano in hand

      - Terry cloth items (my biggest summer weakness)

      - Crochet

      - Plenty of necklaces for layering; they instantly evoke summer feelings

      - Raffia shoes

      - A nautical cardigan

      - Printed Bermuda shorts

As I survey everything sprawled across the floor, I often recognize that nearly everything I select shares a similar vibe. Without even realizing it, my suitcase ultimately mirrors the summer I aspire to experience. Perhaps that’s why I find packing so enjoyable; by the time I zip it up, I already feel as if I’m on holiday. Here’s hoping your suitcase embodies your summer as well.
