I'm a Fashion Editor, and I just returned from Oaxaca—here's all that I brought with me.

      I just returned from a four-day trip to Oaxaca de Juárez, also known as Oaxaca, which is the capital of the Mexican state of Oaxaca. I was there for a friend's wedding. (Quick note: if you ever receive an invitation to a wedding in Oaxaca, get ready to be amazed! The customs and traditions are truly remarkable.) This was my first visit to this vibrant cultural and culinary hub, and I was completely enchanted by the magical city. I stayed at the boutique Hotel Los Amantes, located in the historic center (the lively atmosphere and the breakfast here are fantastic, just so you know), which was ideally situated near the colorful colonial buildings and the renowned Templo de Santo Domingo, a cathedral celebrated for its stunning baroque architecture and a popular gathering spot for locals. Amid the wedding events, I spent most of my days wandering through the beautiful, colorful cobblestone streets; indulging in Mexican street food and Oaxacan mezcal; and exploring the coolest coffee shops as well as bustling markets. Above all, I indulged in my favorite pastime—shopping! Oaxaca is a true shopper's paradise, and I become very passionate whenever I discuss the shopping scene there. While you'll encounter the usual tourist merchandise, I discovered that the markets and boutiques offered high-quality, beautifully crafted items. From traditional Mexican embroidered dresses, tunics, and blouses to colorful beaded jewelry and handwoven Zapotec textiles, as well as vibrant woven bags and rustic clay pottery (I bought a complete set of bowls, cups, and water jugs), the city is filled with unique and vibrant cultural and traditional treasures. Fabrics like airy cotton and linen are ideal. I wore linen and cotton dresses styled with comfortable sneakers since I did a lot of walking around the city. I especially love my low-profile red SeaVees sneakers, which are stylish for both day and evening wear.
