I've tried hundreds of them professionally as part of my job, but even prior to my career as a beauty journalist, I’ve had a long-standing fascination with lip balms. **What Makes Balm Amour the Best Lip Balm?**
(Image credit: @eleanorvousden for Who What Wear UK) Violette_FR was founded by French makeup artist Violette Serrat, and it’s not just one of my favorite makeup brands, but it’s also a staple in my makeup bag especially for its outstanding lip formulations (Bisou Balm achieves what she calls “bouche mordue”—translating to just-bitten lips in French). Therefore, when I learned that she spent six years developing Balm Amour, I was already optimistic. After trying it for myself, it became evident that this is the ultimate lip balm.
First, I must mention the applicator. Its ceramic design makes applying it a delightful experience every time. It remains cool, which feels particularly soothing on chapped or irritated lips. My lips, which tend to be dry and sensitive, have stayed baby-soft since I started using this balm. Its texture is rich yet non-sticky, instantly enveloping your lips in hydration and lasting for quite a while. Even after it has faded, my lips still feel deeply nourished and luxurious. Serrat included a variety of hydrating plant actives together with tripeptides at twice the functional dose, making this balm not just incredibly nourishing and reparative, but also assisting in making your lips appear fuller and smoother over time.

After the launch of the clear version last year, this lip balm has gained so much popularity that now there are three tinted options available.
