After 30 days of testing, Sakara's new line of supplements has turned into my ultimate beauty secret.
Although I am a beauty editor, I've always been deeply interested in wellness. As a child, my parents instilled in me the significance of maintaining a healthy diet and exercising (I was the "different" kid at school with lunches full of organic whole foods), and for nearly half of my college experience, I believed I would pursue a career in health with a focus on nutrition. To provide some context: Throughout elementary, middle, and high school, my life was entirely centered around dance. It’s well-known that body image issues and intense beauty standards are prevalent in the dance community, and after sustaining a back injury during my sophomore season, I became fixated on nutrition in an unhealthy way as a way to manage my weight while I could no longer exercise or dance as I typically did. This eventually led to a struggle with anorexia, and I spent my final two years of high school oscillating between outpatient and inpatient treatment. With immense support from my family and care team, I managed to recover, move away for college, and ultimately secure my dream role as a beauty director in Los Angeles. Redefining my relationship with food and viewing nutrition as a means of healing rather than punishment has been crucial to my journey, and for the past decade, Sakara has been by my side throughout.
As a loyal Sakara customer, I often participate in the brand's Signature Nutrition Program. Having nutritious, balanced, and healthy meals delivered regularly has been a vital part of my recovery, and I've enthusiastically supported the brand as it has introduced supplemental products to enhance its nutritional offerings. Over the years, I've had many favorites, but Sakara's new collection of elegant supplements—Daily Elixir, Night Service, Cell Reset, and my favorite, Metabolism Bite—represents, in my opinion, their most impressive work yet. I was fortunate to receive a 30-day supply of all four formulas prior to their launch and experienced notable physical and mental benefits. Sakara is one of the few wellness brands that I genuinely believe is worth every dollar, and I am eager to share my thoughts on the new products below.
The Inspiration
Packed with customer favorites, Sakara's current lineup of supplements is already considerable and well-regarded among the brand's nutrition programs. I was curious about the timing and reasoning behind these four new supplements. I shared with Sakara's founders, Danielle DuBoise and Whitney Tingle, that the lineup feels very deliberate, in stark contrast to the often overwhelming "more is more" narrative prevalent in the wellness industry. "We intentionally designed the Sakara supplements not only to contain the highest-quality ingredients, which is essential, but also to be in formats that maximize bioavailability and impact," the founders explained. They also emphasized that significant thought was dedicated to the packaging and daily habits of Sakara customers. The four products are designed to seamlessly integrate into someone’s everyday life and routines, from waking up to bedtime.
"The concept of 'wellness' has evolved significantly since Sakara’s inception in 2011," DuBoise and Tingle continued. "When we began, our clients didn’t have extensive to-do lists regarding their wellness routines. Today, it can be daunting to determine what to use, when, and why." In simpler terms, DuBoise and Tingle aimed to simplify the journey to a healthy life, which led to the creation of supplements intended to be an enjoyable, low-maintenance component of clients' daily lives—no drastic changes or time-consuming processes involved.
How Sakara Stands Out from the Competition
I’ve often praised Sakara as one of the few wellness brands that truly delivers on its promises. Amid the rapid emergence of new products, trends, and brands, Sakara remains committed to its original nine pillars of nutrition and understands the value of quality over quantity. Unlike many wellness brands, you won’t see Sakara rapidly churning out new formulas, and there’s a reason for this. According to DuBoise and Tingle, four defining factors set Sakara apart in terms of effectiveness and intentionality: ingredient integrity, optimal formulation, rigorous testing, and the brand's philosophy of being "designed for ritual." "We use nutrients derived from whole foods that the body can absorb and utilize," the founders explained. "Every ingredient is included at its most effective therapeutic dose—no unnecessary fillers and no excessive dosages that go unused." Furthermore, all products undergo third-party testing for purity and potency, ensuring that everything customers consume is free of heavy metals and contaminants. While Sakara prioritizes ingredients and formulation above all else, many popular brands on the market tend to focus more on marketing than genuine efficacy. DuBoise and Tingle remarked that poor-quality ingredients, unnecessary fillers, and megadoses, along with a lack of third-party testing, are prevalent among many brands that we, as consumers, often trust without question.
