Alix Earle Embraces Fashion Risks for Miu Miu (Indeed, This Means Wearing Socks with Heels)
Alix Earle isn't concerned about whether people understand her socks—they're Miu Miu, after all. (The comments might criticize her for this, but we certainly won't.) On the final day of Paris Fashion Week, the 24-year-old social media influencer and Hot Mess podcast host celebrated in her own way—ordering coffee, putting on under-eye patches, and getting ready with friends for Miu Miu's Fall-Winter 2025 show. Over the past few years, much has been discussed about Miu Miu, especially its shifting identity as the brand embodies the hyper-online, slightly disheveled yet effortlessly stylish cool girl. She puts on her favorite leggings, stuffs her belongings into her oversized bag, brushes her hair just a bit, and heads out. The contemporary Miu Miu woman is very much like Alix—highly aspirational yet still genuine. She doesn’t feel the need to pretend that she has everything figured out. Earle is well aware of this reality.
The social media figure has gained a massive following on the internet through her candid Get Ready With Me videos. Each time you tune in to Alix’s content, it feels like you’re catching up with a friend on FaceTime. This is why, when Who What Wear joined Earle for a getting-ready session ahead of her front-row experience at Miu Miu during a social media takeover on our Instagram, we had to ask: is preparing for the Miami clubs more exciting than prepping to enjoy the spectacle of Miuccia Prada? Her response? Same vibe, but different.
The Miu Miu girl always stands out—she's trendy, often discussed, and frequently the most captivating person in the room. How does one embody the Miu Miu muse in everyday life? Confidence is crucial—if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will.
I'd love to hear about the look you chose today. What about your outfit resonates with you and your personal style? I thought the vibrant blue of this outfit was so much fun. It definitely stands out in a room, and I’ve always been attracted to pieces that are eye-catching, whether in a positive or unexpected way.
You've established much of your platform through your honest Get Ready with Me videos. Do you feel a change in your mindset when preparing for a front-row seat at a fashion show compared to going out for brunch with friends? There’s no difference in my mindset—getting ready always involves filming something to share with my audience. It consistently feels enjoyable and natural, like I’m just getting ready with the girls. It’s the same vibe, just different outfits and environments.
Nowadays, it seems that everything Miu Miu releases becomes an instant sensation. Is there a specific item from the recent collection that you're eager to acquire? I've been obsessed with the New Balance/Miu Miu sneakers, but every time I visit a store to buy them, they’re sold out in my size. It’s turned into a bit of a quest! If anyone spots them in a size 7, please let me know!
What’s the most touristy indulgence you plan to enjoy in Paris without guilt? I absolutely need to get a croissant every time I visit; it’s a must. No matter how many times I come, it never gets old.
What was your favorite moment from the Miu Miu runway show? The distressed leather jackets were incredible—such an effortlessly cool, lived-in look. And those brown sneakers with a gold buckle were perfection!
