As a Fashion Editor who has never purchased anything from Reformation, these items have convinced me to change my mind.
Welcome to The Great Try-On. With spring fully upon us, we took the chance to try on the latest arrivals from some of our favorite brands and documented the process. We believe that seeing an item in real life and reading honest reviews about fit, style, and quality is the best way to shop online, so we hope our try-ons help you make successful purchases this year. Personally, I often feel that changing rooms are where all style aspirations go to die. Under harsh lighting and to the backdrop of loud pop music, it's usually not the most inviting space to fall in love with a new piece. Nevertheless, I've always believed in the importance of trying before buying, especially considering some questionable purchases from Depop and the lack of a universal size guide. So, even if it means enduring stuffy temperatures and the awkwardness of changing in public, I prefer to try items in person whenever possible.
At Who What Wear UK, we take our shopping recommendations very seriously. As part of my role, I need to test new releases before they launch and review the latest must-have items. It’s a challenging job, but someone has to do it. This has been especially beneficial as a newcomer to London with numerous stores and brands I've never shopped at before. One of those brands was Reformation. I was aware of its marketing, sustainable practices, and its reputation for great wedding guest dresses, but I had never experienced the products firsthand.
Walking into Reformation’s Covent Garden store, I was immediately captivated by the array of colors and textures in the new-season collection: striped knitted polos in various candy colors, gingham miniskirts reminiscent of picnic blankets, and airy satin trousers that beckoned for the shedding of winter layers. Spring was clearly in bloom in-store. The boutique was perfectly arranged, showcasing carefully curated displays of jeans and tailored separates like the popular Mason Pant. After making my way through the floor with determination, I found comfort in the serene changing room where I tried on a selection of items to create my ideal spring capsule wardrobe.

See My Favorite Pieces From My Reformation Spring 2025 Try-On:
1. Halterneck Top + Studded Jeans + Ballet Flats
**My Review:** Since Miu Miu’s autumn/winter 2023 collection, I've been obsessed with polka dots. I already own Réalisation Par’s dotted Sadie dress, but I find it a bit too formal for everyday wear. So when I saw this Nila halterneck top, I knew it would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe, providing an elevated printed option I could dress up or down. The white polka dots on a black background feel sleeker and more appropriate for evening wear, making it versatile for casual settings while still looking polished.
The wrap-tie finish cinches my waist and adds structure to the georgette fabric when tied in a bow at the back cutout. As someone with a larger chest, I did find the neckline of the size 8 I tried on a bit lower than I prefer. However, I adjusted it for the try-on and felt that with minor alterations, this outfit would be suitable for work, after-work drinks, or weekends.
With studded bags trending as a key accessory for spring, I decided to try Reformation’s best-selling Cary High Rise Slouchy Wide Leg Jeans in the Chesapeake Stud style. They were among the comfiest jeans I’ve ever tried. I'm wearing a size 27 waist, equivalent to a UK 10, but I felt they were more of a mid-rise than a high-rise, as they sat comfortably at my belly button. Given my shorter torso compared to my longer legs, the jeans slightly pooled on the floor. They’re typically styled with heels on-site, so I think wearing shoes that add an extra inch would give them a proper straight-leg shape.
I completed the look with the black Bethany Ballet Flats. These popular shoes have a Mary Jane style with a strap and buckle detail. The round-toe design is charming and elegantly delicate, providing a nice contrast to the sturdiness of the leather. After strolling around the store in this ensemble feeling like a giddy romantic, I can confidently say this is my ideal spring look. I want to wear it to a garden party, to work, for a candlelit dinner, and even while grocery shopping, considering how confident I felt in it.
