Neither a Mini nor a Midi—This Trending '90s Skirt Style Is Much More Controversial

      As someone who is petite and not particularly adventurous with skirts, I tend to be doubtful about new trends that emerge. However, I can be convinced. One factor that can definitely influence me is a celebrity endorsement, such as the one from Elizabeth Olsen regarding what I see as the most debated skirt trend of the season: knee-length skirts. Historically, trends from the '90s (like the one involving Kate Moss below) always seem to resurge—even those that became contentious after their peak. Unlike miniskirts, midi, and maxi skirts, knee-length skirts have often been labeled as "frumpy" and linked to conservative office attire. Nevertheless, Prada and Miu Miu are endeavoring to revitalize this skirt style, as a number of models showcased knee-length skirts in their F/W 25 collections on the runways. Recently spotted in NYC, Olsen styled her black knee-length skirt with a red top, a camel jacket, and black heels. She looked elegant and sophisticated, defying any notions of controversy.
