Tennis's upcoming sensation, Mirra Andreeva, shared her experiences of collaborating with Rolex and Nike at just 17 years old.

      (Image credit: Getty Images) To suggest that 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva is off to a phenomenal start this year would be an enormous understatement in the tennis community. In February, she clinched the trophy at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, making history as the youngest player to ever win a WTA 1000 title. This victory also marked her debut in the top ten of the rankings. If you were to think that this win was merely a one-time achievement, Andreeva quickly proved otherwise by securing her second WTA 1000 title at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells just weeks later, where she triumphed over No. 2 Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals and No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the finals. (She accepted the trophy wearing a Rolex Datejust with a diamond-set dial.) With growing interest in women’s sports, her visibility will undoubtedly increase. "The 2024 season saw onsite attendance at Hologic WTA Tour events rise by 15%, WTA social media followers grow by 25%, and the overall global audience expand by 10% to a record 1.1 billion across television and streaming platforms," the tour mentioned in a press release. What does this trophy signify for you? Thank you! Winning such a prestigious tournament means a great deal to me. It’s incredibly special, and I feel more confident following this victory. How are you handling the increased media attention? Does it impact your performance? I believe any player who wins a tournament would attract this level of media attention, so it feels normal to me, and it doesn't influence my game. I can focus solely on tennis while I’m on the court. Who is your tennis idol, and why? Roger Federer has always been my idol. He appears so effortless, fearless, and elegant at the same time. I would love to meet him someday and have a conversation, although I would likely be quite nervous. You’ve recently become a Rolex Testimonee. What does this partnership represent to you? Partnering with Rolex has been a dream of mine because of Roger, and I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to work with the Rolex team. They have provided me with immense support, and it's wonderful to have them beside me! What has been your favorite Nike outfit that you’ve worn so far? My favorite Nike outfit was from the 2022 French Open. It was both adorable and comfortable. If you could design your dream Nike kit, what would it look like? I would like to have both a dress and a skirt along with a tank top for versatility. I envision it in navy blue and light brown, as those colors are lovely on their own as well.
