      I don't know about you, but while my wardrobe has adapted to the ever-changing fashion landscape, my bag collection has surprisingly remained quite the same. I find myself using the same black leather style every day, and I've realized that my accessories lack the diversity that my clothing enjoys so effortlessly. I'm not one to chase after trends just for the sake of it—my reliable, well-used tote is proof of that—but it takes something genuinely special to make me part with my money. So far this season, I've resisted the temptation of passing trends, but one bag trend has finally nudged me away from my usual choice: the studded bag.

      With the idea lingering in my mind, I felt encouraged to explore the trend further after spotting it on two of my favorite style icons this week. The first image that captured my attention featured Alexa Chung with her Valentino Nellcote Embellished Suede Tote (£2490). Made of soft, caramel-hued suede and adorned with silver studs that framed the bag's design, this elegant tote elevated her casual spring outfit entirely.

      Then I saw Bella Hadid showcasing the same Valentino bag in a darker brown shade, casually slung over her shoulder. Pairing it with high-waisted jeans, a simple white top, and a cozy cardigan, Hadid created a look that felt both elegant and effortless, and the addition of her studded tote made it incredibly chic.

      Once a must-have item for every girl in the early 2010s, the studded bag trend embodied the grungy, rock-inspired style that characterized the decade. However, as minimalism became more prominent in recent years, the studded bag faded into the background—until now. (Image credit: Backgrid)

      So why the comeback? The cyclical nature of fashion ensures that even the most overused trends can eventually return with renewed allure. The current versions of studded bags seem modernized—featuring sleek, polished designs with a slightly slouchy silhouette that gives them a relaxed feel without appearing messy.

      I've discovered numerous elegant styles that entice me this season, as many of my favorite brands have new arrivals. Naturally, Chung’s and Hadid’s Valentino tote is worth considering, but if you're shopping on a budget, you won't be disappointed either.
