Since Zac Posen became the Creative Director at Gap Inc. in February 2024, the brand has notably transformed. While the name previously conjured images of bright mall lighting and early 2000s holiday advertisements (which still hold up, by the way), Anne Hathaway’s appearance on the red carpet in a Gap corset dress last May confirmed the rumors: Gap is indeed making a comeback.
Today marks another new chapter for the brand with the launch of GapStudio’s highly awaited debut, Collection 01. Filled with items that highlight Posen’s signature tailoring alongside reimagined Gap classics (think denim and khaki), this “new expression of Gap’s essentials” is pushing the brand’s refined new image even further. According to a press release, GapStudio “showcases expert tailoring, intricate details, and a modern interpretation of American style.”
