      The costume designer of The White Lotus, Alex Bovaird, shared on the latest episode of the Who What Wear Podcast that she has a strong passion for handbags. Selecting the designer bags for the characters each season has quickly become one of her favorite elements of the show's widely scrutinized costume design. She acknowledges that the number of bags packed by the guests might seem excessive, but Mike White is ultimately crafting his own unique universe within the show. In the realm of The White Lotus, vacationers embrace an extravagant style. They have no reason not to, since they are affluent individuals who enjoy presenting themselves as such. They relish the experience of dressing as White Lotus guests as much as they enjoy being guests themselves. After all, a vacation isn't complete unless one can outshine everyone else.

      In Thailand, there was a trio of best friends who clearly enjoyed gossiping about each other, an astrology enthusiast brimming with optimism, a woman who has captivated Tanya's vengeful ex, and a Southern mother who has misplaced her lorazepam and is unsure about their location in Asia. This dynamic inspired some delightful designer bag selections for them, including an unexpected vintage 2009 Louis Vuitton bag and a classic Gucci bamboo 1947.
