4 Trends That All the Tennis Girls Will Sport in 2025
(Image credit: Getty Images) If you know my byline or follow me on Instagram, you're aware of my passion for tennis. Fortunately, my enthusiasm aligns perfectly with my role as a fashion editor. Tennis is an inherently stylish sport, featuring well-dressed athletes (hello, Roger Federer) and fans (who could forget Taylor Swift at last year's U.S. Open?). Additionally, tennis-inspired fashion has been steadily gaining traction among women who have yet to set foot on a court. Whether your serve is impressive or you can't distinguish a lob from a let, I assure you that tennis apparel will make you look cute. To learn about the trends that will be popular this spring and summer, I consulted a true expert: Joelle Michaeloff, VP of Design at Wilson Sportswear. Read on to discover the four trends she predicts will rise in 2025.
1. UPF Fabrics
"Staying covered up has never looked this stylish," Michaeloff shared with Who What Wear. "Ultra lightweight, breathable fabrics featuring UPF [Ultraviolet Protection Factor] technology will transform the market for tech tops and seasonal layering. Wilson’s All Day collection is set to evolve, merging fashion and function."
2. Mixed-Material Dresses
"Dresses will remain highly significant both on the court and in everyday fashion," Michaeloff told Who What Wear. "The convenience of the one-and-done factor makes this essential item a must-have. Dresses will become increasingly intricate with mixed materials, innovative cut-outs, and updated proportions."
3. Skorts 2.0
"We are particularly excited about our 'skirty shorts,' a concept we began developing in 2023. These garments blur the line between shorts and skirts, incorporating liners that help keep everything secure. Skorts are making a comeback and will have lasting appeal."
4. Irregular Pleats
"Skirts will continue to be a staple for Wilson. We love mixed materials and irregular pleats. Our goal is to ensure the skirt moves beautifully and looks stunning when a tennis player is in action. We enjoy pushing the limits of technology while camouflaging it with beautiful fabrics and unique designs."
